We are adventurers, outdoor-enthusiasts, overlanders. Our family has been remote camping since our kids, now adults, were very young. We embraced overlanding several years ago when David was introduced to that form of adventure-based travel and it reminded him of some favorite aspects of his military experience.
HighRoad Adventure Gear is a small company with big ideas to Equip Your Adventures… It all started with an unwieldy piece of wood found in a dry Arizona riverbed that we needed for the evening’s campfire. After securing it to the roof with bungees, we knew we needed a better solution. The vision for the WoodGaiter was born around the campfire that night.
We build products that we use. We see a need and we create products to fill that need. As a combat veteran with significant field experience, David knows first-hand the importance of well-made gear, and the risks that result from shoddy gear. With that foundation, we will always strive to create exceptionally well-engineered, functional, durable products because we use them, a lot. And we hope you will proudly use them for many years to come.
We’re crazy about quality and attention to detail. Our products are handmade in the USA with superior craftsmanship, and the best materials we can find. We build products that last so you get value from your investment, and that has the added benefit of producing less trash. We also focus on minimizing waste in production, designing our products to maximize material usage to the best of our ability.
We were inspired to name our business HighRoad Adventure Gear. The “high road” embodies who we are and what we stand for. To “take the high road” is about quality, striving to do your very best, seeking to do right by others, and being good stewards of resources and the environment.
